Location:
I give lessons on Sayers Lake, which is (mostly) in Bald Eagle State Park, in Howard, PA 16841. We begin on the lakeside lawn in Howard Borough's West End Park and, once on the water, sail in the area between there and the Lower Greens Run boat launch on the opposite side of the lake. See second map below.
What about the wind??
You may have noticed that we don't get a lot of reliable wind here in the valleys of Central Pennsylvania. That is actually fine if you're just learning the fundamentals of this sport. A beginner doesn't need or want high wind to get the basics. On the other hand, we do get significant wind here as well; see some of the stills and videos under "Your Instructor" (which is under YOUR LESSON) and in my BLOG. If you're wondering what the season is, see "Windsurfing Season" on the "More..." tab.
This first map shows how to get here from State College, PA. Scroll down to see the second map, which shows the lessons location on the lake.
To get here from State College, take I-99 north. After passing under I-80, go another 5--6 miles on PA-26, which then turns left and goes another ~3 miles to Howard.
If you're coming from somewhere else, well, we're just above I-80 (between exits 161 and 173), about in the middle of the state.
