Here's part of a lesson I gave to Jennifer B. down in NC earlier this month. That week was her first windsurfing experience, but she learned very fast. She's on the Baby Board (nice and stable) but I gave her a much bigger sail (a 6.2) than the 4.0 or 5.0 that I start beginners on.

I spent the first week of May in Avon, NC, on Hatteras Island, part of the beautiful Outer Banks of the U.S. east coast. I went as a member of BABA, the Baltimore Area Boardsailing Association (http://www.windsurfbaba.org/). We rented 7 houses on Pamlico Sound, which is wide enough that you can't see the mainland. Great people, great sailing, and a great price. We started out wearing full wetsuits, but by week's end the weather was almost hot. I instructed a couple of people in basic windsurfing, and let others use my beginner gear to practice on. Here are some representative pics. (Click on a picture to enlarge it and see the caption.)
