It was the end of two solid days of strong wind. When I finally made it to the lake the wind was subsiding. Susan, whom I had given her first lesson several years ago, had been there with her husband Chris for two hours already. My friend John, who used to windsurf here but now hails from Nevada, came back to the area for a visit. There was barely any wind, but my sail was rigged so he went out on the water with my gear. For a bit of low-speed action . For a bit of low-speed, action video, click here.
At 6 pm I had decided to go to Bald Eagle State Park's swimming beach to swim laps for exercise, but then noticed there was a breeze. So as fast as I could I went out for a sail. Never went faster than 7.1 mph, but it was wonderful.
