November 20, 2014
For a couple of days, the lows were in the teens Fahrenheit (like -10 Celsius).
November 24, 2014. After a couple of nights when the temperature got into the teens (e.g., 16F = -9C), it was warm today (65F = 18.3C) and breezy so I rigged up and went for a sail. Alas I was too late to get most of the wind so I just sailed once across the lake and back with my 6.2 and then again with 8.1m^2 sails. The water was 44F ( = 6.7C) so my feet started to get painfully cold, so I quit. This very brief planing run was the most exciting part of the afternoon.
This is Bill vdB, sharing little vignettes of windsurfing on Sayers Lake, in Howard PA. and sometimes elsewhere.
